Day # 3: Een Regenachtige Dag ( A Rainy Day)

Wednesday, June 6, 2012

Today's bike ride to the flume was a wet one, and it continued to rain for most of the day. Everyone was working productively to finish setting up their equipment for the wave action tomorrow. As you can see from the picture below, there  is already a good deal of water in the Flume, Charlie and Hachem's equipment is already underwater and ready for some waves.

We worked on setting up the Vectrino II's today,  (I talked you all about Vectrino's II in our presentation on Coastal Engineering). Diane and I are not the only people using Vectrinos II's to collect data in the flume, there are several people using Vectrino's I and II as part of their data collection tools. It takes a great bit of time to make sure that the instruments are properly aligned, and at the right height, so the measurements will be accurate. Below, is a picture of me helping to set up the Vectrino II's. Despite the chilly wet weather we were having, I was still having a blast!

This afternoon we made our first waves! Take a look at the video and see for yourselves!
